Vega testing has become increasingly popular over the last few years because it is simple and painless(involving no needles) and results are instantaneous. The testing is performed using a pen-like stylus and a hand-held electrode which are connected to a Vega machine. The stylus is placed on one of the acupuncture points on the patient's hand, whilst the electrode is held in the other hand, creating a circuit. A variety of different substances including foods, chemicals etc are placed on the machine and the patient's response is measured by observing the reading on the meter. If a particular substance is not tolerated by the body a lower than normal reading would be indicated
